What time should an Irish wedding ceremony start?

1pm and 2pm are the most common. Earlier gives you a longer drinks reception, which needs entertainment to work. Later compresses the day and, in winter, costs you your photography light.

Should speeches be before or after the meal?

Increasingly before, and it works better. Nervous speakers eat their dinner, the room is attentive, and the kitchen gets a clean run at service.
