Ireland has more castle wedding venues than almost anywhere, from medieval tower houses to Victorian estates. Published castle wedding packages start from about €78 per person midweek and run to €290 per person at the top end, and many castles quote only on request.

What makes castle weddings cost more
- Exclusive use. Many castles take one wedding at a time, and some require you to book the whole property.
- Minimum numbers. Lough Eske, for example, bases its package on a minimum of 100 guests.
- Accommodation. Guests often stay on site, and some castles require a block of rooms to be booked.
- Demand. The best-known castles book a year or two ahead for summer Saturdays.
How to get a castle for less
- Go midweek. Lough Rynn publishes midweek packages from €78 per person against €135 at weekends, and Slane Castle is €265 Monday to Thursday against €290 Friday to Sunday.
- Go off-peak. Winter and shoulder-season dates are cheaper and easier to get.
