The cheapest months to get married in Ireland
Month-by-month venue pricing, what you gain off-peak, and what you genuinely give up.

Season is the second-largest lever on an Irish wedding budget, after guest count.
The pricing pattern
- Peak (June–September): full rate. Saturdays book eighteen months out.
- Shoulder (April, May, October): roughly 10% below peak, with much better availability.
- Off-peak (November–March, excluding New Year): 15–22% below peak on venue cost.
On a €14,000 venue spend, moving from July to February saves €2,100–€3,100, and the same shift usually unlocks photographers and bands who were unavailable.
Combining season and day
The effects stack. An off-peak Friday against a peak Saturday is commonly 25–30% cheaper on the venue line.

What you actually give up
Daylight. A December ceremony at 2pm gives you photographs until about 3:45pm. Plan the day around light, not the other way round, bring the ceremony forward, do portraits immediately.
Outdoor anything. Assume you will be indoors. Any outdoor moment in Ireland is a bonus in every month of the year.
Guest travel. Winter weather and shorter days make long drives less appealing. A coach matters more.

- Your first-choice suppliers, not your third
- Venues that treat you as the wedding of the month, not the third that week
- Fires, candlelight and a genuinely cosy room
- Guests who are not also attending four other weddings that summer
January and February weddings in Ireland have quietly become fashionable, and the rooms look extraordinary in candlelight.
