The average couple in Ireland spends €1,841 on their wedding videographer, according to the weddingsonline Irish Wedding Survey 2025. That is about 5% of the total budget. Published packages run from under €1,500 for shorter coverage to over €3,500 for a full team with drone and extra films, and most full-day packages sit between about €2,000 and €2,700.

Read across the table and the pattern is clear. Coverage that stops at the speeches costs less than a full day to the first dance, and drone footage, a second videographer and extra films push the price up from there.

What sets the price

  • Hours of coverage. Prep to speeches is a shorter day than prep to the first dance, and it shows in the price.
  • Which films you get. Most packages include a short highlights film of a few minutes and a longer documentary edit of the ceremony and speeches, which can run to an hour or more. Extra edits, a teaser or a social media reel add to the cost.
  • A second videographer. Two shooters cover both sets of morning preparations and give a second angle on the ceremony. Films by Renee publishes this as a €750 add-on.
  • Drone footage. Included as standard by some, an upgrade with others. Ask, and check the venue allows it.
  • Experience and demand. Established videographers book out a year or more ahead and price accordingly.

What extras cost

Published add-on prices give a feel for what upgrades are worth:

  • Second videographer: €750 (Films by Renee)
  • Extra hours after 10pm: €200 per hour (WedVibe Films)
  • A short vertical reel for social media: €350 (Films by Renee)
  • Five extra minutes of film: €250 (Michael Black Wedding)

Videographer and photographer together

At survey averages, a photographer (€2,276) and a videographer (€1,841) booked separately come to about €4,100. Some studios publish a combined package. Reel Irish Wedding lists photo and video together at €4,700, with a full-day film and an album. Combined packages make the day easier to coordinate, but compare the work of both the photographer and the videographer, not just the price.

Content creators: the cheaper alternative

A newer option is a wedding content creator, who films short, phone-shot clips for social media and sends them the same day or soon after. It is not a replacement for a wedding film, but it costs far less. Ali Social Studio in Cork, for example, lists packages from €350 to €700. Some couples book a content creator instead of a videographer, and some book both.

Booking well

Watch a full film, not just the highlights. Ask to see a complete documentary edit from one wedding, ideally in a venue like yours, so you hear how the speeches and vows sound. Audio is where weaker films let you down.

Check delivery time. Wedding films take longer than photos. Around twelve weeks is common, and longer in peak season. Some offer faster delivery for a fee.

Book early. The best videographers for summer Saturdays book out a year or more ahead, so book soon after your venue and photographer.

Where to save without regretting it

  • Book coverage to the end of the speeches rather than the full evening, if the dance floor matters less to you.
  • Skip the extra edits. The highlights film and the full ceremony and speeches are what couples rewatch.
  • Consider a content creator if you mainly want short clips to share, rather than a film to keep.
